<p>Wayne Irvin Rogers, 81, resident of Greenwood and widower of Connie DeVue Mosley Rogers passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4, 2025 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Greenwood, he was the son of Joseph Franklin "Joe" Rogers, and Virginia Weeks Rogers. A graduate of Greenwood High, Wayne was an entrepreneur having formerly owned Greenwood Auto Parts, Greenwood Nursery, and later retiring as CEO of East Teak Fine Hardwoods. A devoted member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church, Wayne shared his faith and was actively involved in many aspects of church ministry and service throughout the years.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his son Jeffrey Wayne Rogers(Pam) of Greenwood; daughter, Karen DeVue (Johnathan) Ashley of Ninety Six; four grandchildren, Hailee Ashley, Granite Ashley both of Ninety Six, Kristina Graham, and Brandon Langley both of Greenwood; five great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and his beloved fur baby, Lucy. He is also survived by his brothers George Rogers(Ann) of Ninety Six and Mitchell Rogers(Katherine) of Greenwood. In addition to his wife and parents, Wayne was also preceded in death by his son Andy Rogers.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:00pm at Rice Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Alvin Hodges officiating. A private burial will be held at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.</p><p><br></p><p>Pallbearers will be Rick Barnes, Steven Rogers, Johnathan Ashley, Chad Charles, Eddie Moss, and Mike Saggus. Honorary escort will be members of the Outreach Sunday School Class along with Morris Dorn, Curtis Stewart and Bill Jones.</p><p><br></p><p>The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends Monday, from 4:30-6:30pm at Blyth Funeral Home.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice &amp; Palliative Care of the Piedmont, 408 W. Alexander Ave. Greenwood, SC 29646.</p><p><br></p>
