<p>Carole McGuirt Starnes, 83, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>She was born August 3, 1941 in Kannapolis, NC to the late Arthur William McGuirt and Carrie Privette McGuirt.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her parents, Carole was preceded in death by her siblings, Willaree Sloan, Hubert McGuirt, and Donald McGuirt.</p><p><br></p><p>&nbsp;She was the best wife, mother, and grandmother-a true pillar of strength and love for her family. Her life was defined by her unwavering faith and deep love for Jesus. She found joy in singing hymns, tending to her garden, spending time outdoors, and nurturing her spirit through prayer and Bible study.</p><p><br></p><p>She was a charter member at Matthews Church of God and, in later years, continued her walk with the Lord, becoming a founding member of Mint Hill Church of God. She faithfully served as church clerk and organist, using her gifts to glorify God and bless others. Her legacy of faith, devotion, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>Carole is survived by her husband Dickie Starnes, whom she married August 7, 1965; son, Richard Starnes; four daughters, Bonnie (Brian) Locke, Deatrice (Jeff) Cauble, Wendy (Ron) Born, Jessica (Drew) Wait, Jodi (Gretchen) Starnes; sister, Judy Buchanan; brother, Kenny McGuirt; 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>The family will greet friends and relatives on Tuesday, July 8, 2025, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Powles Staton Funeral Home, Rockwell, NC.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, in the Nazareth Community Church, Rockwell, NC, with Rev. Mike Shoaf and Bishop Rick D. Brackett, officiating.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>Burial will follow in the Salisbury National Cemetery.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>Memorials may be made to Jentezen Franklin Ministries, PO Box 315Gainesville, GA 30503 and Church of God Children's Home of North Carolina, 3485 Weatherby Cir, Concord, NC 28027.</p><p><br></p><p>Powles Staton Funeral Home of Rockwell, honored provider of Veterans Funeral Care, is assisting the Starnes family.
