She was 78 years old.

Born on September 30, 1946, Oleen lived a life rooted in faith, generosity, and unwavering love. Her devotion to Christ guided her daily life, and she embodied kindness, service, and strength in everything she did. She was the rock of her family — the kind of woman who would literally give you the shirt off her back, often along with a plate of food and a bouquet of flowers she’d grown herself.

Oleen dedicated over 30 years to teaching, shaping the minds and hearts of generations of students. Beyond the classroom, she served her community with grace, volunteering at her church and at her granddaughter’s school library — always finding ways to nurture learning and share her time with love. She was happiest in her garden, surrounded by her beloved roses and flowers — always growing beauty she could share with others. But more than anything, she was most at peace and most joyful when surrounded by her family — her presence was joy, warmth, and home.

She is survived by her children:

• Marilyn Randazzo and husband, David Randazzo of Pflugerville.

• Robert Covey and wife, Mellissa Covey of Mount Calm.

• Chad Covey of McAllen.

She is also survived by her mother-in-law Billie Covey; sister, Lynette Hruzek, brother-in-law, Alfred Sralik, sister-in-law Carol Covey; her grandchildren: Kyle Covey and his partner Haley Rodgers, Makenzie Covey, Chloe Covey, Katelyn Purnell and husband Nick Purnell, Alyssa Randazzo; and her great-granddaughter, Wrenley Covey, as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, Bruce Covey; her parents; and her sister, Sarah Teer Sralik.

Service Information:

● Visitation service

Tuesday, July 8,2025 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Beck Funeral Home, Pflugerville, Texas

● Funeral Service:

Wednesday, July 9, 2025 10:00 a.m.

Immanuel Lutheran Church, Pflugerville, Texas

● Memorial Service

Friday, July 11, 2025 10:00 A.M

St. Paul Lutheran Church, McAllen, Tx

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to:

• Immanuel Lutheran Church of Pflugerville

• St. Paul Lutheran Church of McAllen

Her legacy of faith, kindness, and unconditional love will continue to bloom — just like the flowers in her garden — in every life she touched.
