<p>Judith Ann “Judy” Gavlak, 88, of Nashville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at her home, with family by her side.</p><p><br></p><p>She was born in Cleveland on February 8, 1937, to the late Andrew Alex and Pearl Elizabeth (Herring) Stewart. On July 29, 1970, she married Franklin “Dale” Gavlak, and he survives. They have been married 55 years at the time of her passing.</p><p><br></p><p>Judy’s passion was horses. She was an excellent horseman, participating in shows in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida and winning many awards along the way. She also enjoyed flower gardening but her most important job was to keep Dale out of trouble. They both had a passion to care for troubled children, encouraging, directing, and loving them to become good citizens and caring people in society. Horses were the avenue that worked to help so many they took in. One boy came to learn to ride horses and never left.</p><p><br></p><p>In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Steve (Connie) Yendriga of Cleveland; daughter, Tiffany Masias of WI; grandchildren, David Masias, Brandon Masias, Dawn Easterday, Jeremy Yendriga, Jessica Stevens, and Eric Stevens; great grandchildren, Jayden Easterday, Brock Easterday, Marissa Stevens, Justin Stevens, and Skylar Stevens; and a sister, Carol Good of Linesville, PA.</p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her 2 sons, Wayne Yendriga and John Yendriga; sister, Doris Spackman; and a grandson, Shane Yendriga.</p><p><br></p><p>A gathering to share memories and reminisce the life of Judy will be held from Noon until 3:00pm on July 19th, at Schlabach Funeral Home, Shreve. Following the gathering, the family invites everyone to join them at “the cabin” at 13277 County Rd 280, Big Prairie, OH 44611 for the sprinkling of Judy’s ashes and for food and refreshments after. The family is gathering there because this is the place where so many wonderful memories were made.</p><p><br></p>
