Robert John Gallagher
<p><p> Robert John Gallagher, age 59, of Matawan, NJ passed away on June 29, 2025 at home due to</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> complications with diabetes. Bobby was a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> friend. He was born at Riverview Hospital in Red Bank. He grew up in Keansburg NJ, attended</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> St Ann's Grammar School, graduated from St Mary’s High School in South Amboy in 1984. He</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> was a brilliant student. Childhood summers were spent swimming at pool clubs and beaches at</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> the Jersey Shore. There are many happy memories from the Lighthouse Pool Club in</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> Keansburg. Bobby explored the country, moving out west, living in Wyoming and L.A., where he</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> pursued an interest in acting for a while, before returning home to NJ. He chose to live a simple</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> lifestyle. He had a strong work ethic. He worked in school transportation for several years. He</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> was an avid reader and a talented writer. He enjoyed going to the library, playing guitar, going</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> to the movies, and listening to music. He was a big fan of the band Oasis, whose lead singers</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> are brother’s that share his name, Gallagher. He found pleasure in watching the strategies of a</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> good chess match or a backgammon game. He also found interest in following important court</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> cases in NY. All who knew him would forever remember his kind, gentle nature and his</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> compassion for others. He was predeceased by his grandparents Margaret and Hugh</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> Gallagher. Surviving are his mother Martha-Ellen Gallagher, his sister Ellen Costello and</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> husband Peter, his niece Isabella Costello, his nephew Brian Costello, his Uncle Michael</p></p><p><br></p><p><p> Gallagher and wife Alison, and many cousins and friends.
