<p><p>James H Bailey Jr February 18, 1925 -July 2,2025 100 years old</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>Born in Glen Ridge New Jersey. His parents were Edith Usher and James H Bailey Sr. His dad was a Glen Ridge police officer and his mom worked as a secretary at Public Service Electric and Gas in Newark,NJ. He had one brother Russell Bailey born in 1930.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>Jim graduated from high school in 1943 and immediately went into the Army Air Corp. He served in World War II from 1943-1946. When he was discharged he attended Fairleigh Dickinson University for two years and then Newark College of Engineering at night four nights a week until he graduated. He went to work as a Mechanical Engineer at Public Service Electrical and Gas in Newark,NJ where he worked for 40 years.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>Jim met Phyllis Hill on a blind date and they were happily married in 1949 for 60 years before Phyllis passed away in 2009. They had two sons Douglas and Donald in 1951 &1953 and they lived in the Rock Ridge section of Denville. In 1956 his daughter Barbara was born and his last daughter Marilyn was born in 1960. At this time they had moved to Smith Road in Denville where they lived for 25 years.While living in Denville some Christian neighbors led him to the Lord and he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He retired at 62 in 1987 and enjoyed traveling with his family. He started volunteering at St Clare's Hospital at the age of 84 and continued until he was 95. He found a wonderful group of friends there.</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>He was blessed to have four children and their spouses,Ten grandchildren and spouses and 9 Great grandchildren. He had a wonderful life. He said-</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>" WE ALL HAVE DAYS AHEAD. LET'S DO GOOD THINGS WITH THOSE DAYS AHEAD"</p></p><p><br></p><p><p>Visitation Monday July 7, 2025 from 4:00PM – 7:00PM at Tuttle Funeral Home, Randolph (Tuttlefh.com).
