<p>It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Julia Gould Connell, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at the age of 98. Julia was born in Musquash, NB, on August 22, 1926, the daughter of the late Harry and Eleanor (Austin) Shanks. </p><p><br></p><p>Survived by her son Lawrence (Marion) and daughter, Deborah Connell; grandchildren, Julie (Tom), Michael (Colleen), Mark (Danielle), Andrew (Nancy), and Sara (Laura); great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>Predeceased by her beloved husband Earle; parents Harry and Eleanor Shanks; four brothers, and four sisters.</p><p><br></p><p>Abiding by Julia’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of her life will be held at the Coles Island United Baptist Church on Sunday, July 6, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery following the service.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Coles Island Cemetery or Cody’s W.I. are appreciated.</p><p><br></p><p>Arrangements are in the compassionate care of Chipman Funeral Home & Crematorium (506-339-6612).
