<p><b>Elisabeth Bartolic</b></p><p><b>November 13, 1931 – June 23, 2025</b></p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Elisabeth (Lisya or Betty) Bartolic (née März) passed away peacefully at the age of 93 in her home in Muskego, Wisconsin, on June 23, 2025.</p><p><br></p><p>Born on November 13, 1931, Elisabeth was the youngest child of Janos (Johann) and Anna Marie März (Mercz; née Seifert). She was born and grew up in the German-speaking village of Mucsi, Hungary. Following the expulsion of ethnic Germans (Danube Swabians) from Hungary in 1946, Elisabeth and her parents were transported to Kassel, Germany; they spent the following six years living with another family in the nearby small town of Nieste.</p><p><br></p><p>In early 1952, the family sailed to the US first arriving in the port of New Orleans followed by a brief stay in Fulton, Missouri before permanently relocating to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. There, at age 21, Elisabeth met her future husband Stephen (Stjepan) Bartolic; they married at St. Emeric Church on November 8, 1952, and began their family shortly thereafter.</p><p><br></p><p>Elisabeth later managed the office of Stephen's business and despite language barriers helped make the company a success. She was also deeply involved with the Sacred Heart Croatian Catholic Church. Over the last seven decades, she volunteered her free time to the church helping with various projects and events, as well as activities related to the Parish's school attended by both of her children. Elisabeth and Stephen were also members of the Mucsi Family Club and spent many happy years as part of the Mucsi community.</p><p><br></p><p>Elisabeth was preceded in death by brother Hans März, sister Katarina Both (née März), niece Franciska Anderson (née Both), and her beloved husband Stephen Bartolic.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her children, Stephen (Barbara) Bartolic and Olga Wahl; her nieces, Emma Both, Anna (Andrew) Staudacher, and Elizabeth (Bob Unke) Both; her grandniece, Franciska (Franny) Anderson; her grandchildren, Nikolaus and Christy Wahl, Jessica (Marcel) Hernandez, and Sarah (Brian) Darby; and her great-grandchildren, Christian and Autumn Hernandez.</p><p><br></p><p>Elisabeth was the embodiment of devotion, her every action a testament to the depth of her love for her family. Throughout her life, Elisabeth was a pillar of her community, always extending a helping hand or a comforting word to those in need. Her example of unconditional love and her unwavering commitment to her faith and family will forever be etched in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her memory will be cherished, her lessons embraced, and her gentle and loving spirit celebrated for generations to come.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be held Saturday, July 12, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12 PM at Sacred Heart Croatian Catholic Church (917 N. 49th St., Milwaukee, WI 53208).</p><p><br></p><p>Special thanks to Olga Wahl who took loving care of her Mother, making the last four years of her life as comfortable as possible.</p>
