Charles Thomas Clary

Charles Thomas Clary, a man of great faith and enduring love, was called to his eternal home on June 28, 2025, at the age of 76. Born on February 16, 1949, in Williston, Florida, Charles was a lifelong resident of the town he so dearly loved. He was a beacon of light and strength, living a life that exemplified the Christian virtues of kindness, patience, and generosity.

Charles was predeceased by his loving wife of 36 years, Merita Jane Clary, whose memory continued to be a source of comfort to him. His legacy of love and guidance lives on through his devoted daughters, Frances Carole Basing and Tamara Michelle Clary Jackson, married to Thomas Edward Jackson. He was a beloved brother to Robert Perry Clary (Rosie), John Edward Clary (Sandy), Sarah Ann Still (Bob), Mary Lee Costa (Sam), Dolly Lucille Stevens, Frances Charlene Smith (Jim), and Susan Anette Barley (James). He also leaves behind his companion of eight years, Sally Powell.

Charles was a man of the earth, with hands that worked tirelessly in the timber industry. His dedication to his craft earned him a Master Logger's degree, a recognition of his expertise and commitment to the field. He was not only a logger but a steward of the land.

A devout Christian, Charles was an active member of the Morriston Church of Christ. His faith was the cornerstone of his existence, guiding his every action and decision. He lived his beliefs, not only within the walls of the church but in every interaction with those around him.

His interests were as rich and varied as the life he led. A proud member of the Kiwanis Club, Charles believed in the power of community service and the importance of giving back. He found joy in the simplicity of nature, often seen fishing, hunting, and camping. These activities were not just hobbies but a way for him to connect with God's creation and to share precious moments with family and friends.

Charles was a man of few words, but his actions spoke volumes. He was thoughtful, always considering the needs of others before his own. His gentle spirit was a comfort to those in distress, and his loving nature was felt by all who had the privilege to know him.

As we bid farewell to Charles Thomas Clary, we are reminded of the impact one life can have on so many. We take solace in knowing that he has been welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, where he will surely hear the words, "Well done thy good and faithful servant." Charles's memory will be cherished, and his teachings will continue to guide us.

A visitation will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Weems & Sons Funeral Home in Williston from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
