<p>Regina Crittenden, 77, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away June 28, 2025, at her home.</p><p><br></p><p>She was born on November 3, 1947, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Floyd and Opal (Madison) Rodery.</p><p><br></p><p>Regina was united in marriage to Jackie R. Crittenden on March 17, 1972.</p><p><br></p><p><iframe height="330" width="512" allow="autoplay; fullscreen" src="https://www.tributeslides.com/videos/embedded_video/X9GXZMTLTCPNFNWL" class="ts_player"></iframe></p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Opal Rodery; son, Jason Crittenden; brothers, Floyd Alan "Sonny" Rodery and Rick Rodery; and brothers-in-law, Darrell Hankins and Russell Riney.</p><p><br></p><p>Regina devoted her life to education and was a proud English teacher at Piggott High School. Her passion for literature and learning left a lasting impression on generations of students, many of whom considered her their favorite teacher and still do to this day. Fiercely intelligent and famously spirited, Regina was known for being a spitfire, rough around the edges, yet always full of heart.</p><p><br></p><p>A lover of language, Regina enjoyed reading mysteries and classic novels, listening to the Golden Oldies, and watching British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) programs. Her home was often filled with the soft sound of her humming or singing, usually whichever song matched her thoughts at the moment. She was an active member of South Thornton Church of Christ in Piggott until the COVID-19 pandemic and remained deeply faithful throughout her life.</p><p><br></p><p>Regina’s legacy lives on through the lives she shaped, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely.</p><p><br></p><p>Regina is survived by her husband Jack Crittenden of Piggott, Arkansas; son, Joseph Crittenden and wife Kristin of Piggott, Arkansas; daughter-in-law, Tonya Crittenden of Jonesboro, Arkansas; grandchildren: Allison Catt and husband Caleb, Madison Johnson and husband Austin, Claire Crittenden, Ryan "Bubbers" Crittenden; great-grandchildren, Alaska Petago; sisters, Ava Hankins of Wynne, Arkansas, Rebecca Riney of Fenton, Missouri; brother, Steve Rodery and wife Brenda of Conway, Arkansas; sister-in-law, Cheryl Rodery of Sherwood, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the South Thornton Church of Christ in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Jerry Morgan officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Austin Johnson, Caleb Catt, Logan Riney, Michael Harrell, Stephen Harryman, Ben Rodery, Graham "Sonny" Rodery, and Paul Harryman. Ryan Crittenden will serve as honorary pallbearer. Hoggard &amp; Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at South Thornton Church of Christ.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Piggott Public Library, 361 W. Main Street, Piggott, Arkansas 72454, or to the Regina Crittenden Scholarship Fund established at Piggott State Bank.</p><p><br></p>
