<p>Ruth Ellen Carter, 81, of Elizabethtown, KY, died Saturday, June 7, 2025 at her home.</p><p><br></p><p>Ruth was a loving wife and mother.</p><p><br></p><p>She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel E. Carter; parents, McHenry and Lizzie Yates Bewley; siblings, Bertha Fae Daugherty, Charles MacArthur Bewley, and Betty Mae Ely.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by her four children, Joel (Debbie) Carter of Lawrenceburg, KY, Belinda Carter of Elizabethtown, KY, Deborah (Kenneth) Boles of Custer, KY and Greta (Dale) Mull of Hickory, NC; ten grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; and five sisters, Mary Ann Kephart, Maxine Daugherty, Nancy Yates, Margaret Gilbreth and Nina Sue Kaelin.</p><p><br></p><p>The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025 at Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home in Radcliff, KY with Rev. Robert Daugherty officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery in Rineyville, KY.</p><p><br></p><p>Visitation will be on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Friday beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.</p><p><br></p>October 31, 1943 - June 7, 202510/31/194306/07/2025
