Jonathan Maurice Bertrand

Jonathan Maurice Bertrand, affectionately known as “Reese,” unexpectedly entered eternal rest on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at the age of 61. Reese’s legacy of LOVE, kindness, and faith will forever be etched into the hearts of all who knew him.

Reese was born on August 14, 1963, in Port Chester, New York, to the late Jacqueline Tindle Bertrand. He was educated in the Port Chester and Yonkers public schools.

Reese was a beacon of LOVE, light, kindness and compassion, a man whose heart was unlimited and knew no bounds. Reese’s strength, grace, humility, and presence were a source of joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. In 2024, Reese rededicated his life to the Lord at Bethel Baptist Church in White Plains, New York, under his Christian experience. Reese was a devoted Christian, who walked closely with the Lord, sharing his LOVE in all that he did.

For 35 years, Reese was a faithful and dedicated employee at Martine Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, formerly known as Schnurmacher Nursing Home. Reese worked tirelessly during COVID to make sure the residents at Martine had what they needed during a very difficult time. Reese looked at the residents as if they were a part of his extended family. He cared deeply for people and always wanted the best for everyone. During Reese’s tenure at Martine, he was also a 1199 Union Rep. Reese took his position very seriously, making sure that everyone who belonged to the Union knew their rights and was educated on current issues.

Reese enjoyed all sports, but especially his beloved New York teams – the Knicks, Giants and Yankees. Reese could tell you something about each team and all the players. Another passion of his was he LOVED to sing, write lyrics, and produce musical compositions. He also began studying music technology. Reese taught himself all the notes and the keyboard, which was very soothing after a busy day at the nursing home.

Reese’s sudden departure leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends and colleagues. Reese leaves behind a legacy of inspiration, an immeasurable sense of humor and a beautiful bright smile.

Reese was predeceased in death by his mother, Jacqueline Tindle Bertrand and his sister Joyce Bertrand-Cotton. Reese leaves to cherish his memory - his fiancée, Monica C. Andralliski; brothers and sisters-in-law: Tyrone and Gigi Bertrand, Timothy Bertrand, Kelvin Bertrand, Christopher and Liz Bertrand; and a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
ATTENTION: During the continuing COVID & various health concerns, as we phase back into smaller capacity public visitations/services, we need your help in limiting/controlling the number of people, so please govern yourself accordingly for the health & safety of all.
