<p>Claude Miles Waugerman, 87, of Kingwood, WV, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones. Born on December 21, 1937, in Whetsell Settlement, WV, he was the son of the late Merle and Ida “Belle” (Whetsell) Waugerman. </p><p>Claude dedicated 20 years of service as the city manager for the City of Kingwood, retiring with a legacy of hard work and integrity. He also worked for Ben Harvey Construction, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to providing for his family. A devoted father and grandfather, Claude took immense pride in supporting his son in the Special Olympics and cherished time spent with his family, especially during friendly games of basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, and croquet. </p><p>Above all, Claude was a man who put family first, finding his greatest joy in the moments shared with those he loved. </p><p>He is survived by his sons, Kenneth Waugerman and wife Holly, and Kevin Charles Waugerman; his sister, Doris Livengood; grandsons, Brandon and Jerade Waugerman; nephew, Greg Livengood and wife Melissa; niece, Melissa Hayes and husband Eric; great-niece, Kamryn Hayes; and great-nephews, Kaden Hayes, Chase Livengood, and Cael Livengood. </p><p>In addition to his parents, Claude was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Caroline Virginia (Reckart) Waugerman, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and devotion. </p><p>Family and friends may gather to celebrate Claude’s life at Kingwood Funeral Home, 295 S. Price Street, Kingwood, WV, on Friday, May 9, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and again on Saturday, May 10, from 10:00AM until the service hour at 11:00AM, with Pastor Charles Warger officiating.
