<p>Saved at the age of 13 at the Union Missionary Baptist Church under the preaching of the late F. L. Ray, Mrs. Frances Barton Williams, age 94 of the Difficult Community, made her transition from her earthly journey to her permanent heavenly home to join her husband and other family members and friends for all eternity.</p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Williams was pronounced deceased with her family at her bedside at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday morning May 6, 2025 at the Highpoint Health – Riverview Regional Medical Center in Carthage where she was admitted April 30th from her Kemp Hollow Road home suffering from a period of declining health.</p><p><br></p><p>Her pastor, Eld. Brad Carver and former pastor, Eld. Greg Dunham, will officiate at the 1 p.m. Friday afternoon May 9th funeral services from the Hackett Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow beside her husband in section five at the Defeated Creek Memorial Gardens with a former pastor, Eld. Britt Little, officiating.</p><p>The Williams family will receive friends at Sanderson in Kempville on Thursday from 1 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until services at 1 p.m.</p><p><br></p><p>She was one of five children, three daughters and two sons, of the late Wiley Clarence “W. C.” Barton who died at the age of 64 on December 25, 1957 and Clara Barton Gregory who died at the age of 94 on September 24, 1993.Barton and was born Mary Frances Barton in the Union Camp Community of Macon County on April 20, 1931.</p><p><br></p><p>Two sisters preceded her in death, Pauline Barton Jenkins who died October 3, 2002 at the age of 82 and Alice Christine Barton Rhoads who died March 18, 2011 at the age of 88 and a brother, U. S. Army World War II veteran, Hobart Barton who died July 4, 1997 at the age of 79.</p><p>Also preceding Mrs. Williams in death was a son-in-law, Randy Wilson Dennis who died at the age of 67 on April 2, 2022.</p><p><br></p><p>Mrs. Williams was a 1949 graduate of Macon County High School where she was the Valedictorian of her graduating class and attended some classes from Cumberland College, (now Cumberland University) in Lebanon.</p><p><br></p><p>At the home of the late Eld. F. W. Lambert in the Siloam Community in Macon County, she was united in marriage to Difficult Community native, James Francis (Monroe) Williams who died August 20, 1999 at the age of 71 following almost forty years of marriage.</p><p><br></p><p>She had attended the Union Missionary Baptist Church all of her life and since the age of 13, when she was baptized into the full fellowship of the church, she has been a faithful and dedicated member.</p><p><br></p><p>From 1949 until 1959, she was employed at Form Fit Rogers in Lafayette and after marrying and while her children were attending school, she was a teachers’ aide at the Defeated Creek Elementary School.</p><p><br></p><p>Surviving are her three daughters, Melinda Williams Dennis of Carthage, Mary Williams Carver and husband Ronnie of the Difficult Community, Carolyn Williams Chaffin and husband Darrell of the Galen Community in Macon County; brother, Carroll Barton and wife Brownie of the Union Camp Community in Macon County; six grandchildren, Tim Dennis and wife Leisha of Cookeville, Jeremy Dennis and wife Tara of the Tanglewood Community, Elizabeth Carver Rankin and husband Brad of Manchester, Aaron Carver and wife Madison of the Difficult Community, Emily Chaffin and Ethan Chaffin both of the Galen Community; four great-grandchildren, Adalyn and Samuel Dennis, Sophie Rankin and Jameson Carver.</p><p><br></p><p>The Williams family has requested memorials to the Union Missionary Baptist Church.</p><p><br></p><p>Pallbearers: Tim &amp; Jeremy Dennis, Aaron Carver, Ethan Chaffin, Rusty Williams,</p><p>Brad Rankin, Greg Barton</p><p><br></p>
