Glenda Fae Sparkman
<p><br></p><p>Glenda Faye Sparkman was born on August 26, 1939, to Thomas Wilford Winton and Rosalie Williams Winton in Welch Oklahoma. Glenda lived in Welch at a young age where she attended elementary school. She later moved to Miami with her family and attended Miami High School where she was a Miamiette. She attended Business College in Kansas City to learn the banking trade and went to work for Security Bank.</p><p><br></p><p>She later met David Reed Sparkman and married on June 5, 1959. They had three children, Bryan, Steve and Dana. Early on, David and Glenda built a successful masonry business with Glenda handling the accounting. She and David were also very involved in the agriculture industry raising limousin cattle. She and David traveled around the country for family vacations centered around the kids’ showing cattle.</p><p><br></p><p>Glenda worked and volunteered over the years for the Ottawa County Election Board and various roles with the OSU 4-H Extension office, American Cattle Service, and the Oklahoma Limousin Association.</p><p><br></p><p>She enjoyed cooking, playing bridge, and spending time with family. She dearly loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband David and her granddaughter Katy.</p><p><br></p><p>She is survived by brother Tom and wife Mary of Colorado Springs, Co., children Bryan and wife Denise of Vinita, Steve and wife Lori of Tulsa, Dana and husband Steve of Vinita, grandchildren Tyler, Mathew and wife Valarie, Audra and husband Matt, Mattie and husband Jayssel, Siarra Bailee and husband Taylan, Harley and husband Aaron, Jonathan and wife Leslie, Haylee and husband Kevin, nephew Aaron and wife Gabriela, niece Lauren and husband Brett numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, niece and nephews and great nieces and nephews.</p><p><br></p><p>Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at Paul Thomas Funeral Home Chapel in Miami, OK. Pastor Leon Weece will officiate. Interment will be in Welch Cemetery in Welch, OK. Jim Charlesworth, Tyler Sparkman, Mathew Sparkman, Jayssel Perdue, Aaron Winton and Johnny Sparkman will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Saturday prior to service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Ottawa County 4-H Extension Office. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
