Donna Marie Moar

February 17, 1948 – April 29, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and anguish that I announce the passing of Donna Marie Moar on April 29, 2025, at the age of 77 years.

Donna is survived by her devoted husband and soulmate of 40 years, Shaun Moar; her son, Brad; and her two grandsons, Dakota & Dylan. Donna also leaves behind her three younger sisters, Bunnie Fleming (Ken), Leona Tripp (Dewayne), Linda Brooks (David), and their entire families.

Donna was a fun spirited soul who took on many passions which included finances (yes finances… coming from her long-term career as a Financial Specialist), interior designing (friends and visitors always commented on how stunning her homes looked as well as her amazing eye for pictures and colors), and of course, her two, four legged children, Simon and Katie.

Donna had the biggest heart and the most radiant green eyes. She was a private and somewhat quiet person, but also very witty and fun! She was fearless (except when it came to flying) and independent, yet still sensitive and incredibly compassionate even while she was fighting against the disease that ultimately took her life.

She was also strong-willed and opinionated (especially when it came down to politics), but those were traits that defined Donna. They were part of who she was, these strengths undoubtedly helped guide her through all of life’s challenges.

Donna always found comfort and peace in caring for close friends and family, many going back to her hometown of Weyburn, Saskatchewan.

Donna was a beautiful person inside and out; her smile was so stunning it would light up the whole room. She cared very deeply for the people around her, always kind and compassionate. She made an impact on many lives.

Donna was a strong fighter, but she is now taking her dog Simon on long peaceful walks amongst the stars.

She will forever be missed, until we meet again.

A special thanks to the AHS doctors, nurses, and staff who cared for Donna over the past 15 months. Also, special thanks to her physiotherapy team (InHome Physical Therapy), home care team (Rocky View Private Health), and the Dulcina Hospice. The care provided for Donna was simply amazing.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Dulcina Hospice - Covenant Care.

A Celebration of Donna’s Life for invited guests only is being held on May 15, 2025, at 2:00pm at Choice Memorial Rocky View (243256 Garden Road, Rocky View, AB).

A second Celebration of Life will be held on June 3, 2025, at 1:00pm at RD Family Funeral Chapel (1825 1 Ave NE, Weyburn, SK), all are welcome.

To view and share photos, condolences and memories of Donna with the family, please visit www.choicememorial.com.
