<p>Joetta Elaine Springer, age 76, of Council Bluffs, passed away May 2, 2025, at CHI-Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>Joetta was born November 30, 1948, in Council Bluffs to Joseph and Elaine Hannon. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and was united in marriage to Rev. Gene Springer on July 14, 1967. To this union six children were born. Joetta served along side her husband for over 49 years at Open Door Baptist Church where she served as their church and school secretary. She enjoyed gardening and reading and loved her family and church.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>Joetta is preceded in death by her father Joseph Hannon; son Wayne Springer in 2015; husband Rev. Gene Springer in 2022.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>Survivors include her children Andrea Andrews and husband Kurt, Jeff Springer and wife Theresa, Kristi Perez and husband Dom, Chad Springer and wife Kris, all of Council Bluffs, Matthew Springer and wife Suzanne, of Ohatchee, AL.; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; mother Elaine Love, of Council Bluffs; brothers Robert Davis, of Villisca, IA., Greg Love, of Council Bluffs; sisters Barb Marr, of Colorado, Patty Mowery and husband Bill, of Council Bluffs, Debbie Hook and husband Donnie, of Cabool, MO., Robin Davis, of Perry, IA., Dolores Hardisty, of Shenandoah, IA.; many nieces and nephews, church family and other extended family; and finally her beloved dog friend Katrina.</p><p><br></p><p></p><p>Visitation Sunday 4 - 6:00 p.m., at the Open Door Baptist Church, 2701 Ave N. Funeral service Monday 10:00 a.m., also at the church. Joetta will be laid to rest with her husband Rev. Gene and her son Wayne in Ridgewood Cemetery. Luncheon and fellowship will follow the burial at Open Door Baptist Church Social Hall. Memorials are suggested to the Open Door Baptist Church mission fund.</p>
