<p>Michael Lee “Mike” Fischer, 79, of Westport, passed away at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, at his residence. </p><p>Born March 6, 1946, in Indianapolis, he was the son of the late Robert and Martha (Duncan) Fischer. He married Joyce May on November 26, 1965, in Fairland, Indiana; she survives. </p><p>Mike was a lifelong carpenter with the Carpenter’s Union Local 301 in Indianapolis. He was a member of the North Vernon Masonic Lodge #59 in North Vernon, NRA, NMLRA, Shelby Shifters, and a former member of the Rolling Hills Shrine Club in North Vernon. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, shooting muzzle loaders, restoring cars, reenactment of historical wars, and being outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grand kids and great grand kids, who called him “Pa” and “Grumpy”. </p><p>Surviving with his wife, Joyce, are daughters, Suzan (Ron) Fischer-Baughman of Fairland and Teressa “Traci” (Jeffrey) Fischer-Harker of Frankfort; son, Anthony Fischer of Westport; grandchildren, Joshua (Taylor) Baughman of Greensburg, Julie Baughman of Indianapolis, Kathleen (Alex) Jackson, Sarah Harker (Christopher Fuller), Matthew Harker, Amelia Harker, all of Frankfort, and Collin Fischer of Westport; great grandchildren, Reed Michael Baughman and Lindy James, both of Greensburg, Libbi Mounts, Aida Jackson, Dalton Jackson, all of Frankfort, and one great grandbaby on the way. He is also survived by his Fur Baby, Ty. </p><p>He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, David. </p><p>In keeping with the wishes of the family, cremation is planned with a celebration of life at a later date. The arrangements were entrusted to the care of Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services. </p><p>Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the North VernonMasonic Lodge #59. </p>
