Robert Andrew Peacock

Robert Andrew Peacock, 52, of Westerville, Ohio, passed away at the OSU James after a fierce and courageous 2-year battle with bladder cancer on April 30, 2025. A most beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend whose warmth, humor, and boundless love left an indelible mark on everyone fortunate enough to know him. True to who he was, he slipped into this next chapter with quiet strength, just like he faced everything else in life. Knowing Robert, he’s already cracking jokes and exploring the unknown with quiet curiosity and his characteristic calm.

Robert was born in Lincoln, Nebraska on January 24, 1973, to Kenneth and Carolyn (Osborne) Peacock. In the early years, job changes and promotions led the family to adventurous moves, residing in different states including Nebraska, Kansas, Texas, Louisiana, and Ohio, all of them with unique stories and friendship associations. Robert graduated from Independence High School in Columbus, Ohio and earned degrees from Columbus State Community College and DeVry Institute, which prepared him for a notable career in Information Technology at Make-a-Wish Foundation for many years.

As with many in the Peacock family, Robert’s singing voice was exceptionally beautiful and echoed the halls of various churches, camps and karaoke microphones. Robert met his love, Pamela (Logan) Peacock, at church while singing in the praise and worship band together. Excited to start their new lives as husband and wife, the two were married on September 22, 2012, at Landoll’s Mohican Castle, where they shared a majestically enchanted superhero wedding experience with their closest family and friends. They have one son, Thomas Scott Peacock, born December 4, 2015, who brought much joy to Robert’s life.

Everyone who knew Robert knew how much he loved games. His insatiable thirst for order, strategy, skill and teaching led him to become “Your friendly neighborhood D&D dungeon master” where his creativity had no bounds. Countless friends looked up to him for a deep-dive adventure into fantasy worlds which stretched the imagination, but more importantly provided a valuable platform where lifelong friendships were formed, strengthened and encouraged.

Robert had a way of turning the ordinary into something unforgettable. Whether through a clever joke, a spontaneous adventure, or a shared moment watching a favorite movie or playing a cherished game, he made the everyday feel magical. Though our hearts ache, we know Robert is not traveling alone. We trust that he continues his journey surrounded by the same love he gave in life, and that someday, we will see him again. Until then, we will honor him by living fully, loving deeply, and laughing often—just as he taught us.

Robert left his mark so truly in our hearts that we will see him in everything we do—in the stories we tell, the places we visit, and the quiet, meaningful moments that suddenly feel touched by him. As one of his favorite quotes from Doctor Who reminds us: "We’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one."

And Robert's story—full of joy, kindness, courage, and love—was a truly good one. The kind that lives on in others, long after the final page is turned. He will be missed more than words can say—and remembered with every breath, every smile, every step forward. His wife, Pam, captured this sentiment, “Every room of our home still echoes with his laughter, and the memories we've built together will carry us forward—guiding us, comforting us, and reminding us of the immense love he gave so freely. He has never walked alone, and he never will. One day, we’ll join him—though he’ll have to wait a while (and we know he’ll be impatient about it). Until then, we carry him with us in every laugh, every sarcastic comment, and every moment of stubborn bravery. Until we meet again, Robert. I love you, always.”

Robert was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Grant Woodrow Peacock and Clara Lydia (Lowery) Peacock; maternal grandparents, Burlin Wayne Osborne and Martha Elizabeth (Scott) Osborne; paternal cousins, Charles Peacock and Shannon Peacock; and maternal cousin, Brent Masters. He is survived by his loving wife Pam; their son Thomas; parents Rev. Carolyn and Ken Peacock; sister Pam (Rich) Lemaster; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends and co-workers.

Visitation is Thursday, May 8, 2025, 4:00pm – 7:00pm at Hill Funeral Home, 220 South State Street, Westerville, OH 43081, and the funeral service is Friday, May 9, 2025, 11:00am at Church of the Messiah, U.M. 51 N. State Street, Westerville, OH 43081. The family will be receiving visitors at the Church of the Messiah starting at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations to Make-a-Wish Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
