<p>Anthony Charles Lewis was born on April 26, 1954, to the late Mary Katherine Byrdsong Lewis and the late William Radford Holley Jr. at Myers Hospital (Erie County Medical Center) in Buffalo, New York. Affectionately referred to as Tony, he was raised in the Cold Spring area of Buffalo. He attended School #8 on East Utica Street and successfully graduated from Kensington High School in 1973. His preferred academic subject was science. Additionally, he possessed a deep passion for martial arts. Tony exhibited a friendly, gentle, and kind disposition, characterized by a sense of humor and a fondness for sweets. His favorite color was blue.&nbsp; </p><p>He found great fulfillment in participating in church services. At the age of twelve, he professed his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was baptized at Friendship Baptist Church. He became a member of Jordan Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where he contributed to the choir, enjoyed singing with the Jordanaires served on the usher board, and continued to develop his Christian faith. He demonstrated a deep appreciation for music, frequently singing, "Give Me A Clean Heart" as it was one of his favored gospel songs. He was known for his ability to reach high notes, performing within the first tenor range.&nbsp; In his early adult years, Tony responded to a calling to enter the ministry and subsequently obtained his ministerial license at the St. James Missionary Baptist Church. Tony began his professional career at Markel Electric in 1975; however, he later encountered significant health challenges. Despite the adversities he faced, he maintained a commendable demeanor, rarely expressing complaints, which endeared him to many individuals.&nbsp; </p><p>Anthony was predeceased in death by his mother, the late Mary Katherine Byrdsong Lewis; his father, the late Rev. William Radford Holley Jr.; and (his second mother), the late Mother Bessie La Pearl Holley. He is survived by his siblings: Raymond Curtis Lewis (Darlene), Donna La Pearl Belle (Hebert II), Louise Johnson (Ronald), Rev. Dr. William Andre Holley (Karen), Rev. Michelle Renae Ferrell (Jerome), and Eveader Jane Sanders (Robert). Additionally, he leaves behind nieces Kelli Standford, La Donness Peterson (Tony), Alicia Diaz (Colin), Sabetha Price (Desmond), Andrea Holley, Diva Ferrell, Emeral Ferrell and Holley Sanders, as well as nephews Herbert Belle III, Ronald Josiah Johnson, De Andre' Belle, and Griffin Sanders. He is also survived by numerous great-nieces and nephews, in addition to a great-great-nephew. </p>
