<p>Dolores (Dee) Margaret Norman</p><p>February 21, 1932 – April 25, 2025</p><p><br></p><p>Dee Norman passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 25, 2025 at the age of 93 in Beaverton, Oregon.</p><p>Dee was born in Portland, Oregon and was one of two daughters of Ed and Margaret Murphy. Her older sister Patty died in 2022. Dee attended the former Girls Polytechnical High School in Portland which later became Monroe high School. She married Kenneth Norman in 1950 and they were married 63 years before he passed away in 2013. They had five children.</p><p>Ken and Dee purchased the Hazeldale Store in 1960 and together they grew the country store into a neighborhood icon which was a place for family grocery shopping as well as community gatherings. After Ken and Dee sold the store, they retired to a country home on acreage in the hills above Newberg Oregon where they had a picturesque view of the cascade-mountains. They later moved down the hill to Newberg.</p><p>Dee was active in community service throughout her retirement. She served as an ombudsman for the state monitoring the welfare of residence in senior living facilities, volunteered at the local foodbank in Newberg, and delivered bread and pastries to the Newberg senior center. She was well known for organizing activities for seniors. She received an ombudsman of the year award for her work with vulnerable seniors.</p><p>She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother that hosted many family gatherings and was well known for making sure all had more than enough food to eat. Dee and Ken hosted family Christmas every year and she enthusiastically carried on the tradition herself after Ken passed. Holidays will not be the same without her.</p><p>Dee was a devout Christian and member of Zion Lutheran Church in Newberg.</p><p>Dee is survived by four of her children: Don Norman, Guy Norman, Patricia Doucet, and Gary Norman. Kathleen Norman died in 2018. She has nine grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.</p>February 21, 1932 - April 25, 202502/21/193204/25/2025
