Nicodemus was born on Friday, March 23rd, 1951 in Makati City, Philippines, and passed away on Friday, April 18th, 2025 in Colma, California. He was predeceased by his mother, Melicia Dela Cruz, and his father, David Tejada. He is survived by his wife, Amelia; son, John Joseph; daughter, Mary Christiane Grace, and her family; and his siblings and their families.

After spending his youth exploring the streets of Makati, he attended the National College of Business and Arts, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. In 1983, he met his wife Amelia, and as the story goes, he “famously” tried to win her affection by impressing her on the basketball court. While he did not give the most spectacular performance, his efforts ultimately won her over, and they went on to have two children, Chris and Jay.

While raising his family, he worked for the Makati Public Safety Authority for 13 years. In his spare time, he liked to ride and assemble bicycles. He built his daughter her first bike and often rode with his son to and from school when he was young. Nicodemus also had an artistic side. He had a great love for music and a talent for singing. His family has fond memories of Sunday mornings, hearing his music blasting through the speakers around the house. He was often known to belt it out at karaoke, singing the songs of his favorites, such as The Beatles, Frank Sinatra, and Elvis Presley. He was skilled at drawing and known to have very nice handwriting, even being ambidextrous.

Nicodemus, known by family and friends as Nick, was not only charismatic but also well-respected by his peers and his community. He had a generous spirit, always offering his time and energy to those who needed it. It is no surprise that he had a great many godchildren.

In 2008, Nicodemus and his family came to the United States, hoping they would have more opportunities. As a loving father, he always wanted his children to have the lives that they most desired for themselves. After working many years in security, he spent his retirement enjoying his hobbies and looking after his granddog, Logan. Though he will be missed by many, it is with comfort knowing that Nicodemus greeted this world on Good Friday and made his send-off on Good Friday.
