John Ross Jacob
<p>John R. Jacob, age 42, of Centerburg, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on April 19, 2025.</p><p><br></p><p>He was born on September 2, 1982, in Columbus, Ohio, to parents John E. Jacob and Bethany Wenell.</p><p><br></p><p>Johnny is survived by his mother, Bethany Wenell (along with Robert, Myka, and Marcus) father, John E. Jacob (along with Patricia and Austin); his sister, ReAnnan Griffith (Stuart, Karsen, Ross, and Boone); and his brother, Andrew Jacob (Abby Davis).</p><p><br></p><p>He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lloyd and Alice Ross; grandfather, Ray Jacob; and uncle, Tom Ross.</p><p><br></p><p>Johnny spent most of his career in hospitality. He had a gift for connecting with people and was truly a people person.</p><p><br></p><p>He was baptized at the Centerburg Church of Christ, a place that remained close to his heart.</p><p><br></p><p>Johnny had a zest for life and a long list of hobbies. He loved playing frisbee golf, challenging his cousin Thomas to games of chess, and especially dominating at cornhole; earning him the nickname “Johnny Buckets” for his unmatched skill. He was an incredible cook, an avid card player, and a proud cat dad to Cheetah and Shadow. Johnny had a deep love for animals and was known for giving gator rides to the family dogs, Bear and Bernice.</p><p><br></p><p>More than anything, Johnny loved his family. He was a beloved son, a devoted brother, and wore the title of “Uncle” with pride. He was a great listener with a heart bigger than life itself. Johnny never met a stranger and had a unique way of making everyone feel welcome. His infectious laugh and wonderful sense of humor will be remembered by all who knew him.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has offered love and support. Your prayers, kind words, and gestures have meant the world to us.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Centerburg Church of Christ in Johnny’s memory.</p><p><br></p><p>Family and friends may call on Thursday, April 24, 2025, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at the Centerburg Church of Christ.
