Dr. Vincent A Lombardo
<p>Dr. Vincent A. Lombardo, of New Providence, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, at the age of 95. He was surrounded by his loving family at home.</p><p><br></p><p>Born in Summit, NJ, on October 9, 1929, Vincent was the son of Angelina (née Pezzuto) and Calogero Lombardo. He spent his early years in Summit and was a longtime resident of Chatham before moving to New Providence 21 years ago.</p><p><br></p><p>Vincent attended Providence College, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree, and went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Georgetown University. He proudly served as a dentist in the United States Army, attaining the rank of Captain before his honorable discharge.</p><p><br></p><p>Following his military service, Dr. Lombardo established a dental practice in Chatham, NJ, where he cared for generations of families with great skill and compassion. Known fondly as “Doc,” he was a trusted caregiver, mentor, and friend to many. He was also a proud member of the Delta Sigma Delta Fraternity.</p><p><br></p><p>Outside of dentistry, Vincent had a deep love for gardening and nature. He found joy in cultivating flowers and building backyard fish ponds. A gentle soul with a generous heart, he raised parakeets and would often gift them to his patients. His warmth and quiet wisdom made him feel like a second father to many.</p><p><br></p><p>Vincent is survived by his loving children, Judith Banks, Lynn Lombardo, John Lombardo and his wife Leslie and Leslie Sidoli and her husband Max. He was the brother of Michael Lombardo and his wife Susan and the cherished grandfather of Douglas Banks, Angela Kidd and her husband William, Tyler Lombardo, Max Sidoli IV, Vincent Sidoli, and Anthony Sidoli. He was also survived by his great-grandchildren Wyatt, Makenzie, Steven, and Isabella and a host of loving nieces and nephews. Vincent was predeceased by his parents, siblings, Jean Lombardo, Mary Ann Lombardo and Leonard Lombardo and his great-granddaughter, Lillian.</p><p><br></p><p>The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Nezlyn Blake "Joan" for her devoted and compassionate care given to Vincent.</p><p><br></p><p>Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation on Monday, April 21st from 4:00-8:00 PM at Paul Ippolito Summit Memorial, 7 Summit Ave, Summit, NJ. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, April 22nd at the funeral home gathering to begin at 9:30 AM with the funeral service to start at 10:00 AM.
