Celebrating the Life of Casey Walter Lamb

With hearts full of love and memories that will never fade, we share that Casey Walter Lamb, a vibrant soul, gentle heart, loyal companion, and a man of deep faith, passed away on April 8th, 2025, in his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona. Though his time with us was too short, the laughter, kindness, and light he brought into our lives will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of everyone who knew him.

Casey was born on September 6th, 1995, in Phoenix, Arizona, and from the very beginning, he brought a spark to the world—one that was unmistakable and full of purpose. God made him wonderfully, intentionally, and with a spirit unlike anyone else. From an early age, his family, friends, and all who knew him recognized his ability to uplift others with his kindness, sincerity, and playful spirit. His ability to bring smiles and laughter to others, often through his playful sense of humor and carefree nature, was a gift that uplifted all who crossed his path. His presence was one that effortlessly captured the hearts of all who knew him. His heart, always open and generous, made the world a better place, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and joy.

A proud product of the Valley, Casey grew up in Phoenix, where he attended Shadow Mountain High School and later Glendale Community College. His school years were filled with friendships, laughter, and, of course, sports—always sports.

To know Casey was to know his passion for sports, with football and baseball being his favorites. He was a fierce competitor, always giving his all, whether it was in a game, practice, or just playing for fun with friends. His skills on the field came from years of hard work and dedication, and it showed every time he played. But it wasn’t just about winning for Casey—he had a true love for the game, a commitment to becoming a better athlete, and sportsmanship that made everyone around him want to push themselves too. Whether he was leading by example or simply sharing a laugh, his passion for the sport and his teammates was always clear. As a teammate, he was always encouraging, offering support, and willing to do whatever it took for the team’s success. And if he wasn’t playing, you could bet he was watching, snacks in hand, enjoying every moment of the game.

Off the field, Casey found as much joy in his favorite comfort foods as he did in watching the game. He had a famously sweet tooth and a fast food radar that could rival a GPS. If you were ever wondering where to find him, chances are he was happily posted up at In-N-Out, Raising Cane’s, Filibertos, or Panda Express—smiling, laughing, and probably ordering extra sauce.

Beyond his passions, Casey was, at his core, a devoted son, a fiercely loyal brother, and a treasured friend. He was always quick with a joke, generous with his time, and ready to offer encouragement or a helping hand when it was needed most. His kindness was quiet but powerful, and his love for others showed up in all the little things—the texts just to check in, the inside jokes, the thoughtful gestures.

He leaves behind a big, loving family who supported him endlessly and will continue to carry his memory with them every single day. He is survived by his parents Paul Lamb (Jolyn) and Joanna Nagelhout (Bret) .His cherished grandparents, Mary Capper, Sonia Karnes, Lynn and Joanne Curtis, Skip and Barbara Nagelhout, and Bill and Janie Riddle.

Casey was the beloved sibling and partner-in-crime to Erica Lamb (Rob), Nick Garrett (Emily), Hannah Nagelhout (Shane), Tori Sheldon-Riddle (Megan), Madison Nagelhout, and Jacob Nagelhout. Whether they were reminiscing, roasting each other with love, or celebrating life’s milestones, their bond was full of laughter and heart.

He now joins those who passed before him, including his paternal grandfather Walter Lamb and Victor Capper, as well as his maternal grandfather Walter McMillen and great-grandfather Walt McMillen—who surely welcomed him with open arms and a heavenly highlight reel of his best sports moments.

In honor of Casey’s life and his love for both people and pets, the family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Parents of Addicted Loved Ones (PAL) or the Arizona Humane Society—two causes close to the heart of a man who always cared deeply, even when it wasn’t always easy to show.

Casey, you were one of a kind. A light, a laugh, and a loyal soul. We’ll miss you every day, but we’ll carry you with us in every touchdown, every home run, every sweet bite of dessert, and every memory shared with a smile.
