Barbara Ann Bablitch
<p><p>Barbara Bablitch, age 83, of Stevens Point, passed away on April 12th, 2025, at Pride TLC Rehab Center in Weston.</p><p><br></p><p>Born on September 3, 1941, Barbara was the daughter of Leland and Mary Larson. She graduated from PJ Jacobs High School in 1959 and went on to marry Jerry Bablitch in 1963. Her life was dedicated to raising her two children, Mike and Jacquie, while working in the PJ Jacobs school cafeteria and teaching ice skating to young students through Portage County Youth on Ice and caring for her family.</p><p><br></p><p>In retirement, Barbara found great joy in spending her winters in Gulf Shores, Alabama, where she enjoyed golfing, shopping, and the beautiful weather. She cherished life's simple pleasures, including wandering through shops, cooking, and creating memories with friends, family, and her grandchildren. She loved taking walks with her dog, Lincoln, who sadly preceded her in death by one week.</p><p><br></p><p>Diagnosed with lung cancer in December 2024, Barbara faced her illness with remarkable courage until the Lord called her home. She was preceded in death by her parents and her cherished son, Mike Bablitch. </p><p><br></p><p>Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Bablitch; her daughter Jacquie (Tom) Camacho of Fond du Lac; her granddaughter Maddie Steuerwald of Waupaca; her grandson Collin (Kristin) Bablitch of Stevens Point; her daughter-in-law Doreen Bablitch; two great-grandsons, Brody and Bryson Bablitch; her grandson Tyler Bablitch; her sister Linda (Dan) Alfuth of Scandinavia; and her brother Bob Larson of Stevens Point.</p><p><br></p><p>Barbara will be remembered as a devoted wife, an exceptional mother, and a loving grandmother. Her warmth and kindness will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.</p><p><br></p><p>A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 18th at Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point. The family will greet relatives and friends Friday morning at the funeral home from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM. There will be an entombment to follow the service at Guardian Angel cemetery. </p><p><br></p><p>We want to express gratitude to the team from St Croix Hospice for their kindness and support during this time. </p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated in her name to the Humane Society of Portage County at 3200 Iber Lane in Plover, WI.</p><p><br></p><p>Shuda Funeral Chapel- Stevens Point is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.</p><p><br></p></p>September 3, 1941 - April 12, 202509/03/194104/12/2025
