<p>Mr. Omar Carlos Cruz, 45, of Richmond, VA departed this life on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at VCU. Omar was born February 1, 1980 in Oaxaca, Mexico.</p><p><br></p><p>Omar was preceded in death by his mother, Candelaria Cruz Manuel and his father, Mario Carlos Perez.</p><p><br></p><p>Omar was a framing carpenter for over twenty years and was known for his hard work. When he wasn't working or building something you would find him fishing, spending time with friends, family, and his beloved dog Pancho.</p><p><br></p><p>Omar is survived by his wife, Wanda Cruz; step daughter, Angela Singh and step son-in-law, Rajbir Singh both of Dinwiddie, VA; six step grandchildren, JJ, Yasmine, Sophiya, Armaun, Arjun, and Rajlyn; father-in-law, John Womack and mother-in-law, Jo Anne Womack both of Dinwiddie, VA; sister-in-law Karen Myrick (Mike) of Chester, VA; brother-in-law John Womack, Jr., of Dinwiddie, Va; step nieces Cheri, Miranda, Lexie, Chelsey, and Torie; eight siblings 6 in Mexico and 2 in the USA; along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.</p><p><br></p><p>A private service will be held for Omar.</p><p><br></p><p>Final care and compassionate services are being provided to the family by the professional staff of Tucker Funerals and Cremations, 415 Halifax Street, Petersburg, VA, (804) 324-5529. www.tuckerfunerals.com.</p><p><br></p>February 1, 1980 - April 10, 202502/01/198004/10/2025
