Frederick Wright

Frederick "Fred" Wright, a cherished husband, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on March 11, 2025, in Harrisburg, PA, at the age of 69. Born on December 3, 1955, in Boston, MA, Fred was the son of the late Donald and Helen (O'Brien) Wright. He spent his formative years in Massachusetts, where he would later establish a name for himself in the community through his dedication to his work and his engaging personality.

Fred's life was marked by his entrepreneurial spirit, having been self-employed for over 30 years as the proud owner of Fred Wright Roofing and Gutters. His craftsmanship and reliability left a lasting impression on the homes and hearts of those he served in Massachusetts. Fred's work was not just a job; it was a testament to his character – a man who stood by the quality of his work and the strength of his word.

Beyond his professional success, Fred had a great zest for life. He enjoyed Billiards with his buddies every Monday and Wednesday night. Fred's love of the outdoors was evident to all who knew him as he could be seen on the walking trails in his community with a bag of treats for all his four-legged friends. Fred's commitment to his community was further demonstrated through his service on the Landscaping Committee and Structures and Ground Committee, where he contributed his vision and labor to the beautification of his neighborhood. Fred had a great sense of humor and always had a friendly remark for everyone he saw. Fred was a member of St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church in Mechanicsburg.

Those who had the pleasure of knowing Fred will fondly remember his travels to the Caribbean resorts, where he soaked up the sun and the company of good friends. His adventures were as much about the places he visited as the laughter and camaraderie he shared with those around him.

Fred's memory will be treasured by his loving wife, Mary E. Beritsky, and his siblings: Donald Wright and wife Patty of Walpole, MA; Wayne Wright of Aurora, CO; Joan Menier of Naples, FL; and Linda Wright of Cumberland, RI; and by his nieces and nephews.

Those who knew Fred understood that his humor could light up a room, his friendliness could make anyone feel at home, and his interesting tales of life's experiences made time spent with him all the more valuable. Fred's presence was a gift to all who had the fortune to cross his path, and his absence will be felt deeply by his family, friends, and community.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 18, 2025 at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 1 Peter Drive, Mechanicsburg. A visitation will be held prior to Mass from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Tuesday at his church. A private interment will take place at the convenience of the family.

As an expression of sympathy and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Fred may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org
