Terri Leigh Hussey
<p>Salisbury Terri Layfield Hussey, 69, passed away, surrounded by her family, on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 at home. She had been courageously battling ovarian cancer for three years. Terri was a fierce warrior fighting this cancer until she could not any longer. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles R. and Sylvia W. Layfield in 2015. They passed three days apart.</p><p><br></p><p>Terri graduated from Wicomico Senior High School in 1974. She went right to work for Drs. Cooper and Smoot in Salisbury until she started her family. For many years, she was a stay-at-home Mom to her three children. Her most recent job was working at Salisbury University as an Assistant Catering Manager. She worked right up until just before passing.</p><p><br></p><p>Terri is survived by three children, Jason Hussey, and his wife Amy of Salisbury; Jill Haun and her husband Michael of Bishopville and Jenna Adkins and her husband Tyler of Cumming, Georgia. She is also survived by six grandchildren, Gavin and Caroline Hussey, Brooke and Brynn Bounds, Hudson Haun, Austin Adkins, and a baby sister to Austin is expected in May. In addition, she is survived by her longtime companion James (Tucker) Washburn and his two sons, Adam, and Chase along with Adam's son Luke. Her sister and best friend, Vicki Bozman and husband Bruce also survive along with their son, Christopher Bozman (Angela) and children, Kennedy and Wesley with another baby expected in May. Three of her special loved ones left to mourn her are her Grand Dogs, Golden Doodles Chase and Charlie and Max, a Havanese. They were like her children and loved their Grammy as much as she loved them. Several cousins and her Aunt Jane (Layfield) survive her, as well.</p><p><br></p><p>Terri loved being outside at her pool in the summertime. She loved having family over to the pool and serving everyone snacks, ice cream, lunch, etc. The kids loved the slide and the diving board. Teri enjoyed floating in her chair. Having family over at Christmas, Easter, and birthdays was always something she enjoyed.</p><p><br></p><p>As per Terri's request, there will be no formal service.
