Einstein said, energy cannot be created or destroyed. It can be changed from one form to another.

Allison Therese Francis Florez-Koepke has changed forms. Her sweet, loving, sassy, competitive energy has left us to become something more beautiful.

Born on March 20,1959 Allison was a quiet, solitary woman who enjoyed reading, word games and board games with her children. Though, she became a fierce competitor when playing games. A “take no prisoners” attitude emerged. She preferred the quiet solitude of a good book, yet she never turned away a single visitor. With open arms she accepted and nurtured every interaction. In more recent years, she developed a knack for adventure. She traveled and explored and lived as passionately as she could. She was avidly involved in her children’s sports endeavors and was very vocal as a spectator. She cheered, taught, and inspired not only her own children but all of their teammates as well. She was the best of 'Mama Bears'. Her world was her children, and making them feel protected, loved, and understood, always challenging them to succeed and conquer their chosen worlds.

Allison was a loyal, loving, dedicated wife to her husband Karl who shared her passion and commitment to being wonderful,ever-present parents.

Allison was predeceased by her husband Karl Koepke, her daughter Morgan Koepke, her mother Violetta Florez, and her brothers Robin, Derek, and Scott Florez.

She was a loving mother to Cody, Cameron & Chanel Koepke and their spouses. She was an adored sister of Rory Florez, Michele Florez, Caprice Sanfratello and Daria Ozburn. She was an inspiring Lita (grandmother) to her beautiful babies Lyla Koepke, Morgan Koepke, and soon to be Nova Koepke. She was a mother to many “adopted” children throughout the town. She was the angel daughter to her Father Pompeyo Florez.

Allison passed away on February 20, 2025 from Cholangiocarcinoma. She fought for over a year. As it happens, she passed on the same day as the World Cholangiocarcinoma Recognition Day that had Chicago lit up green in honor of warriors like her. Allison‘s sickness was a roller coaster ride of treatments, cures, relapses and “we’re sorry we can’t do anything else.” We watched her body fade away while we fought to keep her strength up anyway possible. Somehow, she kept smiling for all of us. She never spent a minute alone from the onset to the end. Her daughter Chanel rallied the troops, scheduling people to be with her 24 hours a day. She had med charts, feeding charts, time logs, and nurses notes for everything. Allison’s three children Cody, Cameron and Chanel made sure she wanted for nothing. Our family came to her side and followed the schedules and filled in the gaps. (Sister-Sitting) The people that knew and loved Allison were innumerable, so many visitors and donations of time, food, finance, and gifts of Prayers and Hope. The Koepke family is deeply honored and grateful for all that you have given. She wanted to see you all, no one was to be turned away. She loved her friends and 'adopted babies' very much. They loved her back. It showed.

After much suffering, Allison left us. She had her family around her quietly urging her toward peace. Her little body had finally had enough. She was peaceful and beautiful and at rest. We were granted a very precious gift witnessing her to the next transition. She leaves a colossal cleft in our hearts only to be consoled inadequately with memories. Sweet dreams, Allison. You were always there for me in the dark.

Visitation Saturday, March 1, 2025, 1:00pm – 6:00pm at Lawn Funeral Home 7909 State Rd. (5500W) Burbank. Interment Private.
