Jim Frank McBrayer entered the presence of the Lord on February 21, 2025, at the age of 92.

He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, a friend to everyone he met, and above all, a faithful servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is survived by his wife Rebecca, daughter and son-in-law Beverly and Bobby Padgett, daughter Sharon Johnson, and grandchildren Morgan Padgett Mathis (Andrew), Trevor and Spencer Padgett, and Faith, Emery and Tyler Johnson.

Jim was born in Temple, Georgia, and graduated from Bremen High School, West Georgia College, and The University of Georgia. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Georgia, and there continued his studies toward a Master’s Degree in Business Administration when he was called home following his father's death. He then began his lifetime career as a salesman for Hubbard Manufacturing and shortly after met the love of his life and wife of 66 years, Rebecca. He proudly served his community for four years as the Commissioner of Haralson County, as his father, Frank McBrayer, did before him. He was a founding member of the Bremen Kiwanis Club, a Master Mason in the Bremen Masonic Lodge, a member of Shriners International, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Bremen, where he served as a deacon for over five decades.

Jim was a devout follower of Christ and put his Savior first in all he did. He loved music and was a frequent soloist at church and weddings. He was quick with a smile, a laugh, and a childhood story. He was a loyal and enthusiastic fan of the University of Georgia Bulldogs, rarely, if ever, missing a game. He delighted in time with his family, antiquing with his wife, watching his grandchildren’s sports, musicals, and other activities, eating good food both at home and dining out, and having a quiet cup of coffee with his wife every morning. He was kind, generous, compassionate and wise.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 23, 2025, at Hightower Funeral Home in Bremen, with a private Celebration of Life immediately following.

Condolence messages can be sent to the family at www.hightowerfuneralhome.com. Hightower Funeral Home of Bremen is in charge of the arrangements.
