<p> GEORGE LEE EDWARDS, son of the late George E. and Tulitha Tyler Edwards, was born Sunday, June 11, 1922 in Onley, Virginia. He departed this life on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland.</p><p><br></p><p> George was educated in the Accomack County Public schools. In 1943 he joined the United States Army, and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was employed as a Civil Service airplane mechanic for 40 years.</p><p><br></p><p>George was a lifelong member of Gaskins Chapel AME Church, where he faithfully served as a Trustee for 30 years. He was married for 60 years to Amparo Carr who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy R. Cooper.</p><p><br></p><p>George leaves to cherish loving memories: his daughter, Jocelyn (“Peaches”) Marshall of Onancock, VA; Chester Walker, a nephew he reared as a son; two grandsons, Douglas P. Strand of Onancock, VA and Lybrant Rush of Raleigh, NC; two granddaughters, Amparo Marshall and Keisha Rush; two great-grandsons, Lybrant, Jr. and Elijah; great-granddaughters, A’Janae, Kimberly, Elysia; great-great-granddaughter, Khloe; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p>June 11, 1922 - January 31, 201206/11/192201/31/2012
