<p>Jorgia Dawes Burge was born March 1, 1927, in Joplin, MO to Ernest Eli Dawes and&nbsp;Margaret Christine Bowman Dawes. She died peacefully at age 97 on February 19, 2025, in her home in Bella Vista, AR with family by her side. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rosalee Dawes Hunsicker and her dear cousin Barbara Ann Ray Hoofnagle. She is survived by her daughter, Christine Lee Henry Murphy, MD, and son-in-law, Michael Murphy, MD, of Atlanta, GA, two grandsons, Brendan Murphy (Kelsey) and Ryan Murphy (Melissa) and two great grandsons, Chandler and Patrick. She was preceded in death by a cousin, Janet Fayle, who Jorgia considered her daughter, and is survived by Janet's husband, Robert Fayle, MD and their children Valerie and Kevin Fayle deemed by Jorgia to be her son-in-law and grandchildren. She is also survived by Barbara Ann's children, who Jorgia considered to be nieces and nephews, Dianne Ray Daugherty (Jerry), Trilla Ray Carter (Monty), Ron Ray and Tom Ray (Dana). Jorgia was proud of her Ottawa heritage inherited from her father and enjoyed attending&nbsp;the annual Quapaw&nbsp;Pow Wow in Quapaw, OK.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp;Jorgia married Bobby Royce Henry and had one daughter, Christine Lee Henry. They divorced after a few years and she later married Jack N. Burge and moved to Fayetteville, AR where she resided until 1984. She established an interior design business there called Warehouse Manor. After leaving Fayetteville, she moved to Bentonville, AR where she and her daughter, Chris, and son-in-law, Mike, succeeded in saving the historical Samuel West Peel house from demolition. Jorgia worked tirelessly to restore the Italianate mansion to its original state. She then opened and ran an interior design studio there, Mansion Interiors, until selling it in 1991.The mansion is now known as the Peel Mansion Museum and Heritage Gardens and is on the National Register of Historic Places.</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp;Jorgia was a member of the Bentonville Garden Club, a charter member of the Northwest Arkansas Heritage Trail, held memberships in the Benton County Historical Society, Phi Mu fraternity and the Symphony Society.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp; &nbsp;The family wishes to thank the care givers at Home Instead and Circle of Life Personal Care for their kind and compassionate care of Jorgia in her later years. Her team at Circle of Life Hospice was instrumental in keeping her comfortable and providing her a sense of peace in her final weeks. We are also grateful for Jorgia's long-time friend and housekeeper, Shirley Jensen, for going above and beyond in taking care of her home over the years and especially caring for her dear cat, Betsy Ross during Jorgia’s hospitalization. </p><p>A funeral is not planned but a memorial service for the family will be announced in the future.</p>
