<p>Lutane Desir, of Harpers ferry,WV is a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on November 12, 1962, in Haiti to her loving parents, Lina and Monnalice Desir.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>In 1992, Lutane immigrated to the United States in pursuit of a better life, and through hard work and perseverance, she became a naturalized American citizen in 1997. A dedicated and hardworking blue-collar woman, she embodied the spirit of the American Dream, finding her greatest joy and pride in her son, Warrens Remy. She supported and encouraged him every step of the way as he became a college graduate and a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Lutane had a deep love for crime shows, often immersing herself in episodes of First 48 and Law &amp; Order. She was also a devoted Christian, believing in the power of faith, perseverance, and doing one’s best for loved ones. She cherished her work family and shared a lifelong bond with her best friend, Silvia.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>More than just a mother to her own son, Lutane was a mother to all of his friends, opening her home and heart to anyone who needed guidance, warmth, or a hot meal. She welcomed them as if they were her own, offering advice, laughter, and unwavering support. Her kindness and nurturing spirit created a second family for so many, leaving an imprint that will never be forgotten.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>One of her greatest blessings was witnessing her son’s marriage to Basma Bisle and meeting her beloved grandchild, Ziya Remy. She treasured the moments spent with her growing family, embracing the joys of being a grandmother.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Lutane faced her illness with resilience and grace, never wavering in her love for those around her. She expressed her wish for a small and private service at sea, a final farewell surrounded by the beauty and peace of the ocean. To honor her strength, generosity, and the roots she planted in the lives of so many, a tree will be planted in her memory—a living tribute to the love she shared and the legacy she leaves behind.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>Lutane’s legacy is one of strength, faith, and boundless love. She leaves behind a family and a community that will forever be grateful for her sacrifices, wisdom, and nurturing spirit. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved her.</p><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>In honor of Lutane’s wishes, a private service at sea will be held by her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory to support the fight against cancer.</p>
