<p>Rose Mary (Fissel) Hektor<br> 9.29.29 - 2.03.25 </p><p>Rose lived a full, rich, and grateful life. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph<br> Hektor, Sr., and many rescued pets(with horses, cows, ducks, furry cats, and dachshunds being<br> her chosen litter).<br> She grew up on Morgan road in the Town of Binghamton. A graduate of Vestal HS, she<br> developed a (life-long) love of the land, nature, and all God’s creatures during her early years,<br> acclimating to the farm and the duties it fostered. She walked to/fro for work while in her teens,<br> including a stint at the Home Dairy Bar on Court St. She then went on to plant her work boots at<br> GAF-Ansco-Anitec until retirement. In later years, beyond the care she gave to family &amp; friends,<br> she also volunteered weekly to dole out kindness to patrons at Catherine’s Cupboard in Hillcrest.<br> Rose leaves behind many friends and exceptional neighbors. She also leaves behind her<br> absolute pride and joy: her son, Joseph Hektor, Jr., along with his treasured life partner, Tammy<br> Bailey. She is also survived by her only sibling, Jacob Fissel, Jr., along with her niece, Melody<br> Fissel.<br> No formal services to follow. Those wishing to pay tribute may consider growing a crop<br> for neighbors in need, or donating to Project Paw, Bevier St., Binghamton.<br> Rose grew a family. ~Rose grew friendships. ~Rose grew vegetables. ~ And, she grew<br> flowers.<br> She made the world a better place because she was here.
