<p>Douglas C. Durand, 80, passed away unexpectedly while vacationing in Laughlin, Nevada. Doug was born on June 19, 1944, to the late Clarence Durand and Vivian Lucas Durand. Doug graduated from Oconto High School with the class of 1962. Upon graduation, Doug joined Marinette’s Company A of the National Guard and served until August 1968. Doug later joined the Naval Reserve and was in the Seabees unit and served from September 1980 until September 1996. He loved the Seabees and loved serving his country. Doug was the owner operator of Durand Trucking and hauled boats for Northport Inc. and traveled all over the country. He also hauled lumber for Weyerhaeuser in Green Bay, WI. He enjoyed driving limo for Bucky’s Limos and enjoyed meeting all the people along the way. On September 16, 1967, he married Kathy (Kitsy) LeBreck, and they shared 57 years of marriage together. Doug was an avid sports fan and loved the Green Bay Packers and attended the Ice Bowl. He also loved the Brewers, Bucks and Badgers. Doug was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish and the American Legion Post 74. Doug will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He loved life and lived it to the fullest.</p><p><br></p><p>Doug is survived by his wife, Kitsy; son, Greg; grandchildren, Morgan (AJ), Sean, and Drake, whom he loved dearly. He is survived by a sister, Sue (John) Valitchka; sisters-in-law, Rose (Les) Stellmacher, Patsy Bake, Diane LeBreck, Sue (Mike) Shew, Theresa LeBreck, Teresa Hyland (Jeff), and Carol (Jeff) Stewart; godson, Jonathan Bake; many beloved nieces and nephews; dear friends and RV Neighbors, Carla Anderson and Suzanne Williams; and Dr. Peter Fergus, his heart doctor and good friend for many years. Including his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws, Paul and Betty LeBreck, whom he dearly loved; sisters-in-law, Judy Elliott and Margie LeBreck; brothers-in-law, Paul LeBreck, David LeBreck, John Hyland and Mike Bake.</p><p><br></p><p>The family will receive relatives and friends at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Oconto, from 9 AM to 12 PM Saturday, March 15, 2025. A memorial mass will be celebrated 12 PM Saturday at the church with the Rev. Francis Nusi officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.gallagerfuneralhome.net.</p>
