January 16, 1941-January 26, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Martha Andrews on January 26, 2025 at the age of 84.

Martha was the beloved daughter of the late Stephen and Bessie Ponton and the cherished wife of John Andrews. She was the loving mother of Janet (Fernando), Dennis (Lisa) and the late Bryan Andrews. She was the very proud grandmother of Grier (Robert) of Thamesford and Jackson, Tammin, Tylah, Preston and Braxton of NSW Australia. She treasured her very close relationship with her sister Mary Lou (Lee) Fraser of Moscow Ontario.

While our family’s footprint is small, everyone who knew Martha understood that her universe of friends was lifelong and expansive, many dating back to her days at Medway Highschool. She was a world-class and deeply dedicated friend who always rose to the occasion for ‘her people’. She was a tremendous character who shared many laughs with us all, her sense of fun and humour was our bright light.

In her community and work-life, Martha’s dedication was clear, she always brought a warm, compassionate perspective to her roles on the Oxford County School Board, Alexandria Hospital Board, Ingersoll Heart & Stroke Foundation, ITOPA and others for many years.

In addition to her love of music, we were in awe of her talent as a pianist, a skill she’d rarely admit to anyone. It truly was a special treat when she shared a little time at the keyboard and some jazz standards in the house.

A Celebration of Martha’s Life will take place Saturday May 24th at 235524 23rd Line, Thamesford, Ontario. Refreshments & Remniniscing at 1:30 pm, Remarks from Family & Friends at 3 pm.
