<p>James Thomas Rountree, 87, of Naylor passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at Berrien Oaks Nursing Center. He was born May 19, 1937 to the late William Lester Rountree, Sr. and Mary Lee Spells of Valdosta. Mr. Rountree graduated from Pine Grove High School in 1958 and after graduation joined the U. S. Marine Corp., where he served from 1958-1961. He retired from Occidental Chemical Company in White Springs, Fl, in 1992. </p><p>Mr. Rountree and his wife loved to fish and spent a lot of years fishing at GA Boys Fish Camp in Palatka, FL. He was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church in Naylor, GA and loved his church family. He was a devoted father, husband, and grandpa and was loved by many. After his wife passed away 5 years ago, he often made the statement, "I have had the Best Life with my little wife and my little family, but I am ready to go see the Lord and be reunited with my little wife again." We can only imagine what a joyous reunion that was. </p><p>Survivors include his three daughters, Sandra Horne of Remerton, GA, Donna McMillan of Valdosta, and Tammy (Jeffery) Hayes of Adel; four grandchildren, Rich (Ashley) McMillan of Naylor, Blake (Abby) McMillan of Lake Park, GA, Jamie Horne of Remerton, and Heather Horne of Remerton; and five great grandchildren. Mr. Rountree was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine "Jerry" Price Rountree; and his brother, William Lester Rountree, Jr. </p><p>Graveside service will be held Sunday, February 2, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Dub Music officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Good Hope Baptist Church, P.O. Box 585, Lakeland, GA 31635 for the building fund. </p>
