Frank Mosquera

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Frank Mosquera on January 25th 2025, at the age of 69.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, Frank spent his youth in Irvington before moving to Union during his teenage years. He carried the warmth of his upbringing into every corner of his life, touching countless lives with his humor, kindness, and unyielding love for family. Frank moved from Irvington and traveled all over the world. He later moved to Michigan, where he provided a place for his family to call home forever.

Frank was the beloved husband of Linda and devoted father to Anna and Alex, who were his greatest pride and joy. He was the cherished son of Francisco and Mercedes Mosquera, who instilled in him the values of hard work, compassion, and perseverance that defined his life.

A dedicated professional, Frank worked tirelessly for over 50 years, starting his career on the docks of Port Newark and rising to manage materials and logistics for Ford Motor Company across North America. He spent more than 20 years with Penske and 25 years with Ford, where his work ethic and leadership left a lasting impact. Frank was a mentor and guide to countless coworkers, offering wisdom and encouragement that helped them reach their fullest potential. The lives of his coworkers were an extension of his family, and he took immense pride in mentoring, supporting, and celebrating their successes.

Frank’s passions extended far beyond his career. His world revolved around his family, and he lived for moments of joy shared with loved ones. Whether cheering on the New Jersey Devils, New York Giants, or New York Yankees, enjoying a round of golf, or gathering over a hearty breakfast on a weekend morning, Frank found happiness in simple, meaningful pleasures. He was a gifted storyteller, a host who welcomed all, and a man whose love for Springsteen, The Rolling Stones, and The Eagles provided the soundtrack to a life well-lived. He was also deeply proud of his Spanish heritage and cherished his relationships with family in Spain, maintaining strong connections that brought him immense joy.

To those who knew him, Frank was larger than life: funny, selfless, compassionate, and unflappable—a true gentle giant. He was a rock to his family and friends, always dependable, thoughtful, and kind. His strength and generosity were matched only by his boundless capacity for love.

Frank’s legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the values he passed on to his family. His unwavering love and dedication to his wife and children will forever be his proudest achievement and enduring gift.

Please join us for a celebration of his life on February 8th from 10am-1pm at Frazer Funeral Home in South Lyon, MI.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Frank’s memory by spending time with loved ones, sharing a story, helping someone in need—just as he would have, or by donating to the ALS Foundation or Team Gleason.
