Jose Fransico Perez-Suris

Jose Perez was born on June 9,1975 on a beautiful island, Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. He was raised in a humble home. Jose's dream was to improve his life by joining the USA Army and becoming a soldier like his grandfather was. He was determined and took the ASVAB entrance Exam 2 times but was required to gain weight due to being too skinny for the entry weights standard. He ate peanut butter sandwiches, and cake to gain weight. He was also sent by the army to a language school in San Antonio where he learned the basics and was sent off to training in South Carolina/Virginia. He graduated quarter master school as a 92Alpha and was sent to his first duty station in Germany. After many years of sacrifices and deployments in his Army career, he decided to retire after 25 years in service as a 1st Sergeant. He was a dedicated and well-disciplined person and never complaint about doing different challenges he has faced in his life. He loved his job as much as he loved his family. He was used to the Military lifestyle, so he decided to work as a supply specialist as a Civilian in Fort Cavazos, TX. He was a very good roll model for his son Joel Perez, teaching him how to be the gentleman he is today and has always stayed in touch with his family and friends around the world. If someone needed anything, he would be there, no questions asked. He loved his Camero ZL1 and showing off in the car shows with his salsa music playing. His legacy will not be forgotten as the Soldier, Father, Son,Brother, husband and friend. Jose is preceded in death by his father ( Jose Franciso Perez Torres). Jose is survived by his mother Norma Iris Suris Zapata, brother Alex Perez, sisters Yary Perez and Jennifer Marie Suris. Jose leaves behind his son Joe L. Perez. Rest in Peace Papi. Visitation services has been scheduled for Monday, February 10,2025 at 5PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 11,2025 at 1PM at Heritage Funeral Home and Graveside Service at 3PM at Central Texas State Veteran Cemetery. Special Thanks to Family, Friends, CoWorkers, Pastors and Church members for the love, prayers and support during this difficult time.
