<p>Melissa Ann Taylor, 46, of Connersville, Indiana, passed away on January 22, 2025, surrounded by family and beloved pets at her dream home, which she called her Little Doll House, from complications of metastatic melanoma.</p><p><br></p><p>Born June 7, 1978, she was the daughter of Steve and Phyllis Daulton Murphy of Hagerstown and graduated from Hagerstown High School with the class of 1996. She went on to attend Ivy Tech Community College.</p><p><br></p><p>On May 11, 2002, she joined James E. Taylor Jr. of Connersville in twenty-two wonderful years of marriage.</p><p><br></p><p>Melissa was employed in the customer service field at Petro Truck Stop, Union County National Bank (later First Merchants Bank), Bunge OPD Scale House, and, finally, Murphy’s Gas Company.</p><p><br></p><p>Melissa was known as a kind, generous, and caring soul who often went out of her way to not only be a good-hearted person but a true friend to everyone she met and knew. Her customers were not strangers but friends who each and every one she tried to make feel special in their own way. Those whom she called friends were more like family, and her family, especially her children, were her world.</p><p><br></p><p>Survivors include her husband, James Taylor; their three beautiful children, Danek, Kenna, and Eli; her parents, Steve and Phyllis Murphy; her brother, Mike (Laura) Murphy of Hagerstown; as well as several nieces, nephews, family members, and dear friends.</p><p><br></p><p>Melissa is preceded in death by her brother, Stephen Murphy Jr.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025, at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home.
