Miriam Audrey Judy Cox July 28, 1935 - January 13, 2025

We celebrate the life and memory of our mother, Judy Cox, a faithful servant to the Lord. She was a kind person who was loved by all who knew her. Judy was born on July 28, 1935, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania and was the youngest of 5 siblings (Reon, Joseph, Winnie, and Harry). Judy's warmth and compassion touched all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She passed away peacefully in Riverside, California, surrounded by the love of her family.

Judy was the beloved wife of the late Earl Cox. She and Earl married on August 5, 1957, in Indiana. They moved to Southern California shortly after their marriage and raised their family in Covina. After she retired, she and Earl moved to Colorado for a few years, then returned to California living in Corona. She was a devoted mother to her daughters, Earlene Kelly (Michael), Eugenia Kawashima (Keith), Edwina Jones (Dean), and Eudora Husted (Chris). Judy was a loving Nana to her grandchildren, DJ Kawashima, Matthew Kelly (Katherine), Garrett Kawashima (Mary Rose), Johnathan Kelly, Indiana Jones (Meghann), Gillian Jones, Victoria Lubary, Savannah Jones, Isabella Lubary, and Sofia Lubary.

Professionally, Judy dedicated over 40 years to the Social Security Administration, where she served with distinction and received many commendations for her service. Her commitment to public service was a testament to her character, always striving to assist and uplift those around her. At work, Judy was a pillar of support, always ready to lend a helping hand.

Judy's joy for life was evident in her love for traveling, especially her cruises with family and friends. She found joy exploring new places and creating lasting memories with those she loved. She also found happiness in both baking and cooking for people, filling the homes of her family and friends with many treasured family recipes.

In remembrance of Judy, we reflect on a life well-lived, full of love. Her story is one of devotion to her family and her faith, as she approached each day with a gentle spirit and a grateful heart. As we say goodbye, we take solace in knowing that Judy's journey continues in the hearts and memories of those who loved her most.

Psalm 23:4: "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me."

A service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on February 21st at 2:15 PM. She is now at peace in the arms of her Savior. Rest in peace and know that your light will forever shine in the lives you've touched.

In lieu of flowers please consider planting a tree in her memory.
