<p>Lilly Anna Lamothe, 17, of Fort Wayne, passed away from aplastic anemia, a rare form of bone marrow failure, on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis. </p><p>Born on October 12, 2007, in Fort Wayne, Lilly was a junior at Northrop High School and a dedicated student at the Fort Wayne Community Schools Career Academy, where she pursued her dream of becoming a NICU nurse. Being a student and spending time with her friends at Northrup were cherished parts of her life. </p><p>Lilly was the best “hockey sister” to her brother, Jared, always supporting him with love and pride. </p><p>She brought her vibrant energy to her job at the Putt Putt Fun Center, where she enjoyed connecting with coworkers and guests. Lilly had an infectious love for school spirit, especially dressing up creatively for themed football games and other events. </p><p>A talented competitive dancer at Elite Dance Center, Lilly cherished her role as the dance team’s “mother hen,” offering guidance, encouragement, and care for all, particularly the younger dancers. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the studio, as Lilly led her life with kindness, compassion, forgiveness, and an incredible ability to empathize with others. Her radiant smile and contagious laughter could light up any room, and her thoughtful, selfless nature made an indelible impression on everyone she met. </p><p>Lilly is survived by her loving parents, Marcus and Nancy Lamothe of Fort Wayne; her brother, Jared Lamothe of Fort Wayne; her grandmother, "Mémère" Jeanne Gersdorff of Fort Wayne; her aunt and uncle, Karen and Marc Beaudoin of Rhode Island; cousin, Merissa (Kurt) Rawson of New Hampshire; second cousins, Katie, Mason, and Kase Rawson of New Hampshire; her uncle, Roger Lamothe of Massachusetts; cousin, Vanessa Lamothe of Massachusetts; her uncle and aunt, Jeramiah and Beth Lamothe of Connecticut; and cousins, Madison and Jaxson Lamothe of Connecticut; her beloved cats, Bob, Allie and Lucky. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Paul Gersdorff, Anna Thoms, and Roger Lamothe. </p><p>A celebration of Lilly’s life will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 6 p.m. with a gathering of family and friends one-hour prior from 5-6 p.m. at Pathway Community Church, 1010 Carroll Road, Fort Wayne, IN. Memorial donations may be made to Riley Hospital for Children in honor of Lilly’s generous spirit and the care she received. </p><p>Lilly’s kindness, resilience, and boundless love will always be remembered. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her. </p>
