<p>Dr. Althea L. Phillips, 67, peacefully transitioned to heaven on January 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at her home in South Chesterfield, Virginia. Born on August 29, 1957, in Peekskill, NY, she was the cherished daughter of Reverend Howard and Reverend Jeannette Phillips and one of their five children.</p><p><br></p><p>Faith was the cornerstone of Althea's life. Her deep relationship with God guided her in every endeavor, infusing her life with purpose and love. A woman of many talents, Althea found joy in singing, cooking, traveling, decorating, gardening, and spreading love through her kind and generous spirit.</p><p><br></p><p>Althea was a dedicated Registered Nurse for over 20 years and held a Doctorate in Nursing Leadership. She was a published author of three books and the creator of the podcast, Worth the Struggle, a faith-based series offering hope and inspiration. Her professional legacy includes serving as Vice President of Planetree at Sun River Health, a network of community health centers in New York. Even in her later years, she demonstrated her unwavering compassion by caring for her 98-year-old father.</p><p><br></p><p>Althea's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her children: Jennifer Phillips, Tyrone (Melissa) Coleman, Stephanie Coleman, Christine (Marcus) Byers, Matthew Coleman, Joshua Patrick, Caleb Patrick, and Althea Patrick. She also leaves behind her beloved grandchildren: Tyrone Shakur Coleman, Susan Coleman, Eli Coleman, Myles Coleman, Malachi Coleman, Aleah Coleman, Zariana Byers, Zoey Byers, and Hunter Grayson Coleman.
