<p>November 15,1970 -January 8, 2025</p><p><br></p><p>Maria Fuentez, born on November 15, 1970, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico, passed away peacefully at her residence in Odessa, Texas, on January 8, 2025.</p><p><br></p><p>Maria was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Ramona Soto. She is survived by her two daughters Brittany Moore, and her husband June, and Jasmine Rodriguez; sons Larry Fuentez and wife Blair, and Alex Rodriguez; and her significant other, Andy Hernandez. </p><p><br></p><p>Maria is also survived by her siblings: Jesse Soto, Martin Soto and wife Janie, Val Soto and his wife Savannah; James Valdenegro and his husband Rick; Becky Soto, and Joe Soto and his wife Cynthia. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. </p><p><br></p><p>A devoted “Mimi”, Maria cherished her grandchildren: Jamal, Jasmine, Jayla, and Jordan Moore: and Matthew Rodriguez, Jace and Camila Fuentez. Her love for her grandchildren was immeasurable, and she treasured every moment spent with them. </p><p><br></p><p>Maria was a strong woman of faith who brought kindness and joy to everyone she encountered. She never met a stranger and always welcomed others with open arms. She was a resilient and loving mother who courageously battled cancer multiple times, teaching her family to live with joy and bravery. Despite her trials, Maria never wavered in her faith, and her enduring spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her. </p><p><br></p><p>Maria’s family takes comfort in knowing she is now healed and at peace. She will forever remain in our hearts. </p><p>The family would like to express their gratitude for the continued thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. </p><p><br></p><p>In accordance with Maria’s wishes, a cremation will be followed by a Celebration of Life to honor her memory. The service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, January 19th, 2025, at the Lawndale Community Center, 9201 Rainbow Drive, Odessa, Texas, 79765.</p>January 8, 202501/08/2025
