<p>We are saddened by the passing of Everest Goddeau on January 9, 2025 at 81 years old. He was born on July 11, 1943 the son of Albert and Catherine (McGee) Goddeau. </p><p><br></p><p>Everest attended Saranac Central School and graduated in 1962. His main sport was wrestling, and he was part of the Plattsburgh State first wrestling team and finished second against all teams in a large SUNY tournament. After leaving Plattsburgh, NY he then joined the labor union where he served as Vice President, then later President of the union. He was an active and proud member of labor union 186 for 34 years. He worked on many Olympic venues prior to the 1980 Olympics. After his retirement, Everest decided to pursue his true passion, and create beautiful fireplaces and stone masonry work all around Lake Placid and the Adirondacks. His work was thoughtful and precise and each stone for every project he used was special. His artistic masonry work lives throughout various homes and businesses in the area. </p><p><br></p><p>Everest was a dedicated family man who embodied selflessness and the definition of hard work. He married his wife Theresa in July of 1979 and raised his family in a house he built with his own hands. He thoroughly enjoyed the mountains, hunting, fishing, and cross-country skiing. He enjoyed traveling, especially out west to hunt mule deer and Elk on his brother in laws ranch. </p><p><br></p><p>Everest was predeceased by his mother and father, his brother Donald Goddeau and his niece Sara Goddeau. He is survived by his wife, Theresa (Dattola) Goddeau, his two children, Michael Goddeau and his wife Mindy and Aimee Dellavalle and her husband Kyle. He was the proudest Poppy to his four grandchildren Rhaya Torrance, Sydnee Goddeau, Rowan Torrance and Parker Dellavalle. He is also survived by his brother Carl Goddeau and sister Barbara Hugus. He has many nieces and nephews and endless friends and loved ones.</p><p><br></p><p>Calling hours will be held at M. B. Clark Funeral Home on Sunday, January 12th from 4 pm to 7 pm. A mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, January 13 at 11:00am at St. Agnes Catholic Church. Rev. Larry Anderson will officiate.
