<p>Thomasine Reed of Tinley Park, Illinois, passed away on January 8, 2025. She lived fiercely and with endless strength. She loved unconditionally and never failed to speak her mind. She was kind and selfless to anyone and everyone; but above all else, she was devoted to her family.</p><p><br></p><p>Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, she was a graduate of Kennedy High School where she learned shorthand and secretarial skills. Tomi worked as a legal secretary at CNA Insurance and then spent a majority of her career working in Kirby School District 140 in Tinley Park. She worked at many schools, including Bannes, McAuliffe, the Admin Office, and finally retired from Fernway Elementary. She loved everyone she worked with and, above all, most enjoyed all the students and their families she encountered during her many years. However, Tomi’s greatest accomplishment was being a devoted wife, mother, and nana. Tomi and her husband were happily married for 51 years. Although Kevin preceded Tomi in death, they are now reunited with each other in heaven. </p><p>Tomi is survived by her loving daughter, Megan, son-in-law, Mike, her grandson, Mikey, sister, Margo, god-daughter and cousin, Jami, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation Sunday 12:00 noon until 5:00 P.M. at Lawn Funeral Home 17909 S 94th Ave Tinley Park, IL 60487.
