<p>Our dearly beloved, Cheryl Lynn Rader, age 73, peacefully entered into her eternal home Monday, January 6, 2025. She was born in Austin, Texas on August 25, 1951. She graduated from William B. Travis High School in 1969 and later earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from Texas State University (FKA Southwest Texas State. Both she and her brother Edmund were blessed with a beautiful, God given talent in music and cheerfully shared their gifts with the church and others. She retired from the church performing administrative duties.</p><p><br></p><p>Cheryl took the call of Christ seriously from a young age, submitting to the Lord early in life. She was a soft spoken, kind hearted woman whose faith in God was her guiding light to be a good example of God's teaching.</p><p><br></p><p>Preceding her in death were her parents Dan Eli Rader and Albina Bessie (Stacha) Rader and brother Edmund Powell Rader. She leaves behind numerous cousins and friends. She was a devoted daughter, a loving sister, and a friend to so many. The other loves of her life were her four-legged companions, first Miss Scarlett and after her passing, she later rescued Professor. She had a deep conviction about the healing care and loving compassion she showed her rescue babies. Under her care, they flourished, having received a safe and loving environment to call home.</p><p><br></p><p>The funeral service to celebrate Cheryl's life and to honor her legacy of faith in and faithfulness to God will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025 at the Woodlawn Baptist Church, 4600 Menchaca Road, Austin, Texas 78745, Visitation will be at 10 am immediately followed by the service at 11 am. Burial will be at 1 pm at Berry's Creek Cemetary in Georgetown. Pastors Russell Allen and Ken Baldwin officiating.</p><p><br></p><p>In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church, 4600 Menchaca Road, Austin, Texas 78745.</p><p><br></p><p>The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Christopher House for the loving care shown to Cheryl during her time there. Also, a special thanks to her friends and neighbors that so generously gave of themselves in their many acts of assistance for her.</p><p><br></p><p>Cheryl's memory will continue to inspire and guide us, just as the stars light up the path in the night sky. May we all carry forward the torch of her legacy of love, faith, and joy, illuminating the world with the same brightness she shared so generously.
