<p><b>Cornelia "Corry" Brouwers</b></p><p><b>March 1, 1929 - January 7, 2025</b></p><p><br></p><p>It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our loving mother Corrie Brouwers (nee Van Bakel) who passed away peacefully on January 7th, 2025 in the Milton District Hospital, surrounded by her children and their spouses.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>She will be loved and missed every single day.</p><p><br></p><p>Corrie was born in Holland on March 1, 1929 to Hendrika (Van Der Zanden) and&nbsp;Franciscus Van Bakel. She was the eldest of twelve children and, at an early age, took on the role of second mother to many of her siblings. With the passing of her parents, she was known as her family's “Matriarch”.</p><p><br></p><p>She married the love of her life Theodorus (Ted) Cornelius&nbsp;Brouwers (d. June 5, 1999). They made a home for themselves in Canada, raising 5 children; John, Trudy, Frank, Rita and Maranda. Their family tree grew to include 11 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren, all of whom were loved by their Oma and “Great” Oma. Mom always stressed that the greatest accomplishment of her life was her family.&nbsp; Her capacity for love knew&nbsp;no bounds and everyone who met her was touched by her smile, her sense of humour and her&nbsp;ever-so-strong hugs.</p><p><br></p><p>Mom’s greatest hardship was the passing of her Darling daughter, Maranda Richard&nbsp; (December 3, 2022) and her loving grandson Greg Priede (August 25, 2020).</p><p><br></p><p><b><i>Mom, we love you so very much and miss you already!</i></b></p><p><br></p><p>Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation for Corrie on Friday, January 10, 2025 between the hours of 5:00pm &amp; 8:00pm at the McKersie &amp; Early Funeral Home, 114 Main St. E. Milton, ON.&nbsp; A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 11 at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Parish, 139 Martin St. Milton, ON.&nbsp; &nbsp; The burial will be carried out immediately following the Mass at the Milton Evergreen Cemetery, 230 Ontario St. S. Milton, ON.&nbsp; Family and friends are invited to a reception to be held back at Holy Rosary Parish in the Church Hall after the burial.</p><p><br></p>
