<p>Sharon Rae Nasman (nee Nergaard), age 86, a longtime resident of Naperville, IL, formerly of Oswego and Chicago, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville. She was born on November 1, 1938, in Chicago IL.</p><p><br></p><p>Beloved wife of the late John J. Nasman, whom she married on November 21, 1959 and who preceded her in death on November 23, 2020, loving mother of Laura (the late John) Stangle of Peoria, IL, Gregory Nasman of Naperville, IL and the late Jeffery (Annette) Nasman, adored grandmother of Ryan (Alanna) Wizieck, Christian (Callie) Wizieck and Joseph (Carla) Wizieck; Tanner (Alyssa) Nasman and Lena (Bryce) Herring, Cole Nasman and Carly Nasman, cherished great-grandmother of Olivia Wizieck; Delilah and Aubrey Nasman and Brielle Herring, devoted daughter of the late Arvid and Virginia (nee Abt) Nergaard, dear sister of Virginia “Gini” (Dominic “Mickey”) Valentino of Plainfield, IL, sister-in-law of Jan (Jack) Turner of McHenry, IL, the late Helene (the late Glenn) Havard, the late Annette (the late Art) Enloe and the late David Gehr, fond aunt, great-aunt, great-great aunt and friend of many.</p><p><br></p><p>Sharon was born in Chicago, and she attended Christ Lutheran School. The family later moved to Broadview and Sharon attended Proviso East High School. She met the love of her life, John, in homeroom. They married in 1959 and soon after began raising a family in Melrose Park.</p><p><br></p><p>Their family continued to grow, and John’s job brought the family to Naperville in 1966. Sharon stayed home with her children until they all went to school. She really began to&nbsp;blossom then and began working as a secretary for St. Raphael’s Parish. Sharon was very active in her church community, and later was selected to be the Director of Christian Education at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Naperville.</p><p><br></p><p>Sharon loved to garden, walk, scrapbook, volunteer and still spent time with her many family members and friends. As time went on, she became a loving grandmother to seven grandchildren. She could be seen at many of the grandchildren’s sporting and music performances. Her and John also traveled to Alaska, Sweden, and the East Coast. She even traveled to the Holy Land.</p><p><br></p><p>Sharon showed her faith and strength as she progressed through her Alzheimer’s journey which led her to finish her days as a resident of St. Patrick’s Residence in Naperville where she enjoyed music and mass with her loving family around her. She passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025.</p><p><br></p><p>A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, 10:00-11:00 AM until the time of the memorial service celebrating Sharon's life at 11:00 AM at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 815 S.
